Meesho announces 9-day leave for its employees. Internet is impressed

E-commerce platform Meesho announced a nine-day “Reset and Recharge” break for its employees, scheduled from October 26 to November 3. This step has clearly impressed social media users as they praised the company for “setting a strong example’ in the industry.
The initiative, now in its fourth consecutive year, grants employees a complete escape from work-related tasks, including meetings, emails, and even Slack messages.
In a post on LinkedIn, Meesho said, “No laptops, Slack messages, emails, meetings, or stand-up calls, nothing work-related for 9 days! We’re heading into our 4th consecutive company-wide ‘Reset and Recharge’ break from October 26th to November 3rd.”
After a highly successful year, including their blockbuster sale in 2024, Meesho wants its team to unplug, recharge, and return energised.
“After the efforts put into this year and our successful Mega Blockbuster Sale, it’s time to fully unplug and focus on ourselves. This break is for us to recharge our minds and bodies for a fresh and energized start to the year ahead,” the company said.

Social media users applauded the company’s gesture as a forward-thinking approach.
“I would like to take a moment to appreciate the decision to give a nine-day break to all the employees,” a user said, adding, “In today’s fast-paced world, it is easy to get caught up in the never-ending cycle of work and forget about the importance of taking a break. The decision to give a nine-day break to all the employees shows that Meesho values its employees and understands the need for them to take some time off to rejuvenate and come back with a fresh perspective.”
“I can not even imagine this in the current hustle-type work culture across all industries. Incredible, Meesho. You guys have set an example,” another user added.

With the growing emphasis on work-life balance, Meesho’s “Reset and Recharge” initiative has won over social media users as it made them urge other companies to value their employees beyond their performance and recognise the need for rest and rejuvenation.
